And on that farm she had some ducks ....

Photobucket

Lots & lots of ducks. White ducks, spotted ducks, mallards, a few goosey friends, and even a dysfunctional one in the crowd. I love the brilliant colors of the mallard ~ sometimes that rich forest green looks blue, depending on how the sun hits it, and sometimes it IS blue, and sometimes you get both together. And note the "dysfunctionally crested" duck ~ that's caused by a skull deformity (no joke), when fatty tissue squishes through a gap in the duck's skull, and feathers grow on it. Makes for good "handles" when necessary, if ya know what I mean....

I could spend literally hours watching the ducks. They have such funny habits, and if ya don't tell a soul or call the guys in the white coats to come get me, I'll confess something ... a few of them even have names! I talk to them, play with them, feed them. And they talk back to me (much nicer than when my kids talk back and get in big fat trouble).

Here's several of my duck friends and family. If you don't have any, grab a quilt and some snacks and head to your neighbor's pond or a park. Sit. Stare. Eat your snacks. Share some with the ducks. Watch them. Listen to them. Relax.
